Easy Double Chocolate Cookies

Everyone loves cookies. Everyone. Doesn’t matter who you are, there is a cookie for everyone out there. A universal favourite is the Double Chocolate Cookie – a dark chocolate cookie with white chocolate chunks baked into it. But sometimes you want cookies, and you don’t have any! But it’s raining outside, and you don’t want to go to the shops, but you desperately need that cookie to go with your cup of tea and all hope looks lost when you realise… you can make your own! Using this recipe! Which is so simple and quick, you could do it standing on your head. Which, by the way, I don’t recommend as it’ll make a hell of a mess. Easy Double Chocolate Cookies

Serves: Approx. 20 cookies Cooking Time: 11 mins


  • 200g Plain Flour
  • 125g Caster Sugar
  • 1tsp Baking Powder
  • 25g Cocoa Powder
  • 75g Dark Muscovado Sugar
  • 100g White Chocolate Chips
  • 125g Unsalted Butter, Softened
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Large Egg



Add all of the dry ingredients - flour, cocoa powder, both sugars, salt and baking powder - into a large bowl.


Add in all of the wet ingredients - the softened butter, egg and vanilla extract - and mix together with the dry ingredients with a large wooden spoon until everything is combined.


Pre-heat the oven to 190°C (175°C fan)/350°F/Gas Mark 5.


Line a couple of baking sheets with greaseproof paper, and take tablespoon size portions of dough and roll them into a sphere and place them on the baking sheet evenly - not too close together as they'll end up sticking together as they bake.


Place into the oven and bake for 11 minutes.


Remove from the oven and leave to cool for around 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack and leaving to cool completely.
